I've decided to try and draw my fave bloggers to show my appreciation for their amazing blogs so this week I illustrated the lovely Winnie from Diamond Canopy!
I'm aiming to do one a week of my faves - I hope I keep it up!

Kate Hudson and Coco Rocha - Elle's 25th issue
So Elle's 25th anniversary issue was out this week jam packed with loads of exciting stuff including a 36 page spread from Coco Rocha - wow! You can see the behind the scenes video for it here. I did a little illustration of Kate Hudsons cover where she had the most amazing eye make up ever (which i did not do justice to at all!) and I've posted the behind the scenes video after.

Happy 25th birthday Elle!
I love Elle magazine and their amazing covers so since this year is their 25th anniversary I thought I would draw a couple of my favourite covers that have featured recently.
The first cover I chose was Alexa Chung's from October 2009. I liked it as it’s not her normal style which Elle seem to be amazing at! This cover was actually the subscriber’s edition which are always different which is pretty cool for people to keep for years on end!
The second one I chose was Cheryl Cole's November 2009 cover. It was so different from her normal X factor style, really simplified, amazing new hair colour and not much make up! Also they made good use of her tattoos for the shoot.
Another fave was Chloe Sevigny’s cover where they used Miu Mius puppy dog print on the masthead which was amazing!
Elle magazine has always been one of my fave fashion mags. The first thing I look at is "confessions of a mademoiselle” which is hilarious! I hear there is a book in the making of the columns and I cannot wait! The covers and their interviews are always amazing because you always get something from the cover model that you wouldn't have known. Also the styling/make up is never what you would normally expect from them. So yeah I LOVE ELLE!! Happy 25th birthday!!

fashion in film! devil wears prada
This is my favourite outfit that Anne Hathaway's character Andy wore, pretty plain but I love the preppy look. She has an amazing Chanel necklace!
I love Emily Blunts red hair in the above, apparently her wardrobe was made out of a mix of Rick Owens and Vivienne Westwood.

Adidas Spring Summer 2010 lookbook
I really like the lookbook vid that Adidas shot for s/s 10 which I know is a little old now! My fave outfit is Whitney Ports onesie, more the pattern I love though!
I also love the song they have used "Paris which is by Aeroplane. Check out their Myspace here!

fashion in film! empire records
I love Empire Records. If you haven't seen it before, it’s about a group of teens working in a record shop that is about to be taken over by a BIG super group. One of the workforce, Lucas is left to shut up shop and decides to go to Atlantic city with the days takings to try and double it to stop it being taken over. Of course he loses the lot. The rest of the film centres on everyone’s lives whilst trying to get the money back. Oh and its Rex Manning day! This is Rex...
He is super cheesy.
I first saw it when I was 14 and I watched it like 300 times during the summer holidays whilst trying to make cushions that were filled out with toilet paper. Anyways, the fashion is amazing! It was 1995 and the girls were wearing doc martins, tartan minis and cropped jumpers. The boys had long hair, oversized cardis and sportswear.
Elle magazine did an Empire Records inspired shoot last year...
Also I like the shoot Alexa Chung did for Nylon last year which kind of reminded me of Liv Tylers characters clobber...

Nylon - Drew Barrymore
Drew Barrymore on the cover of this months Nylon. She is just too cool for school. The focus of this months issue is denim and was just wondering what everyones first denim purchase was!? Mine was a turqoise pair of jeans from one of those crazy wholesale type shops that sold naf naf jackets...
Elle UK TV - Emily Blunt
I always love Elle UK's cover shoots and can't wait to get this months copy! The leopard print booties as she calls them that she wore before having to take them off look amazing - anyone know who they are by?

Natalie Massenet - Net a Porter
BoF Fashion Pioneers | Natalie Massenet in conversation with Imran Amed from The Business of Fashion on Vimeo.
Natalie Massenet of Net-a-porter recently spoke to "The Business of Fashion" in London about the business, its success and its future which was a really good insight from a very inspirational entrepreuner. She spoke about how the business model has grown over 10 years and how it is able to sustain itself through its magazine content and ability to shop from and their constant collaboration with bloggers. One aspect of the industry she mentioned was demand outstripping supply where consumers today have more access of viewing a designers show whether it be youtube or on a blog but are unable to purchase the products straight away. Her solution would be to cut out a season and have merchandise available a mere weeks after a show which would change the way an industry has ran for many years. As a shopper of the high street, I look to runway shows for inspiration and hope one day to be able to afford some designer goodies, so hopefully if these changes were to be made the high street could keep up!
