Natalie Massenet - Net a Porter

BoF Fashion Pioneers | Natalie Massenet in conversation with Imran Amed from The Business of Fashion on Vimeo.

Natalie Massenet of Net-a-porter recently spoke to "The Business of Fashion" in London about the business, its success and its future which was a really good insight from a very inspirational entrepreuner. She spoke about how the business model has grown over 10 years and how it is able to sustain itself through its magazine content and ability to shop from and their constant collaboration with bloggers. One aspect of the industry she mentioned was demand outstripping supply where consumers today have more access of viewing a designers show whether it be youtube or on a blog but are unable to purchase the products straight away. Her solution would be to cut out a season and have merchandise available a mere weeks after a show which would change the way an industry has ran for many years. As a shopper of the high street, I look to runway shows for inspiration and hope one day to be able to afford some designer goodies, so hopefully if these changes were to be made the high street could keep up!
